FAQ  How to Choose the Right Travel Insurance for Your Trip

Cancel for any reason coverage (CFAR) sounds too good to be true? What is the catch?

CFAR is coverage that offers reimbursement for up to 75% of your trip costs when you cancel a nonrefundable trip for any reason that isn’t covered by our Standard Trip Cancellation Insurance.  Standard Trip Cancellation Insurance generally covers loss of a job, injury, or illness to you or a family member.  Cancel for Any Reason coverage extends the coverage to simply choosing you no longer want to travel.  That is why it is more expensive.

If you choose to cancel your trip because you decide you want to go to a family reunion or just not go at all, then the added CFAR option reimburses up to 75% of your nonrefundable trip costs.

CFAR is an optional upgrade, available when you purchase the Elite Plan only. If seeking Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) optional coverage, you must purchase within 14 days of your initial payment or deposit for your trip.  See the plan certificate for your state for details when securing a quote. This coverage is not offered in WA or NY.  Most policies require travelers to insure 100% of their trips cost to be eligible for CFAR.
